Hapag-Lloyd informs about a new Bill of Lading clause for West-Africa.

Dear Customer,

We would like to inform you that with immediate effect all cargo booked to West Africa, which are in transit to inland or over – border destinations, are required to have a mandatory ‘in transit “ clause on the manifest and bill of lading.

Your Shipping Instruction is required to have the following clause / wording:

Shipper Declares: Cargo in Transit to __________________ (End Destination) on Merchants risk and account.

Failure to insert the above clause will result in penalties and delays in customs release of said cargo directly from the relevant Customs House.
