We would like to inform you that with effect from November 1, 2016 all detention and/or demurrage charges incurring in Australia and New Zealand for import and export shipments will be subject to the following container detention rate applicability after the agreed contract free time has been utilised.

Upon the expiry of the extended free time, any additional days that are subject to Hapag-Lloyd’s public tariff (and charges) will refer to the relevant day count in Hapag-Lloyd’s tariff tier structure.

The subsequent detention and/or demurrage charges beyond extended free time will not be automatically calculated and chargeable from the first tier of the public tariff, rather from the applicable tier reached when including the extended detention and/or demurrage container free time.

For example:
Upon the expiry of a 10-day agreed contract extended free time, the 11th day would be chargeable at the same rate applied in the Hapag-Lloyd published tariff based on the 11th day count of the standard tariff charge tier.

For more information on the rate applicability please navigate to Rules and Regulations “RURE–001” Tariff, third section of Rule 041.3. on our website.
