Hapag-Lloyd informs about new requirements.
We would like to inform you that with immediate effect Sri Lankan Customs will enforce the requirement that all import cargo destined to or transshipped at Sri Lanka (Colombo) must be declared to their customs system. FROB (Freight Remaining On Board) cargo is excluded.
Carriers must declare cargo data 72 hours (3 working days) prior to vessel arrival.
For short transits (less than 3 days transit time) customs manifest will be submitted immediately after vessel sailed from the last port prior to Colombo.
The import manifest must reflect the same information as shown on the Bill of Lading / Sea Waybill and Sri Lankan Customs / SLPA will automatically block any new submissions (including amendments) once official deadline has been reached.
Non-compliance to this requirement and import manifest changes after the deadline are subject to penalty and / or other sanctions.
In order to comply with the regulation and to ensure errors and inquiries are handled in due time please strictly adhere to the respective documentation cut-off.
